INSEPARABLE

The story opens in a hospital where a doctor is consoling a mother about her young identical twin boys. He tells her that they both have contracted a rare congenital disease that degrades their internal organs.

As fate would have it, the disease is attacking different organs in each boy. The doctor tells the mother than he can do an organ transplant - from either one of them -- but can save only one boy; which should it be?

The mother breaks down and cries, and tells the doctor that she cannot decide. The boys were always so close growing up, inseparable many would say, and shared so many interests, likes, dislikes, they even finished each other's sentences. How can she possibly choose which should live and which should die?

The scene cuts to two gurneys being wheeled into the operating room, then a major operation beginning.

Much later, the scene fades back in, and it is of one of the young boy's face in closeup.

He is clearly lying on a pillow in the hospital bed.

He slowly opens his eyes, turns his head, and sees his mother by his side.

He says "Hello, Mother."

The scene draws back to reveal the face of the other boy who is lying beside him. He too opens his eyes and says "Hello, Mother."

The mother, with trembling hands, gasping, reaches down and slowly pulls back the sheet … revealing that both heads have been attached onto one body.
