Explanation: With populations increasing, the White-breasted Kingfisher is doing well and is of "Least Concern." Found from the Middle East, through south and southeast Asia, populations are not fragmented and are locally resident and do not seem to migrate seasonally. The species can also be known as the White-throated Kingfisher. And here in Nepal, the local subspecies is Halcyon smyrnensis fusca. |
