A Year's End Respite

What's right under your feet?

Explanation:  It is the end of another tour of this wonderful planet around its star.  Time to put your feet up -- or down -- and appreciate what is around you.

Here are some of the great places of the world I've visited over the years.  See if you can match these place names with the photos above (then click on the photo to see the answers):

     • Olympic National Forest, Washington
     • South Rim Grand Canyon, Arizona
     • Playa Jaco, Costa Rica
     • Marble Canyon, Arizona
     • Zion National Park, Utah
     • South Luangwa National Park, eastern Zambia, Africa.

Don't ask me why I photograph my feet.  Maybe I enjoy seeing what I'm about to step on, or into, or over.  Maybe I worry about my shoes becoming untied.  Or maybe I cherish the world and the land around me ... and in whatever ecological sense applies, we could all worship the ground beneath all of our feet.

Happy New Year from EPOW ...
and take a moment to see what's around you this week.
